- Your site in March — all quiet
Morning —
Nothing needed your attention this month. Here's the detail if you want it.
What I updated
- WordPress core, 6.7.1 to 6.7.2. Security release, applied the day it came out.
- Nine plugins, including the one that runs your booking form.
- Your theme, one minor version.
- All of it went onto a copy of the site first. Nothing broke, so it went live the same evening.
What I checked
- Backups ran every night and all thirty restored cleanly when I spot-tested one on the 14th.
- The site was up 100% of the month. No alerts fired.
- Your contact form and your booking form both sent test messages through successfully.
- No malware, no unexpected admin accounts, no file changes I could not account for.
- Your SSL certificate renews on 2 June. I will handle it.
What I fixed
- Two broken links on the Menu page, both pointing at a supplier who has changed their website.
- The opening hours in your footer still said winter hours. They now say the summer ones you emailed me on the 3rd.
- A photo on the About page was a 4MB file being displayed two inches wide. It is now 80KB and looks identical.
What I noticed
- Your homepage takes 2.4 seconds to load on a phone on cellular data. That is fine. It was 3.1 last month, and the photo above is why it improved.
- The plugin that adds your Instagram feed has not been updated by its developer in fourteen months. It is not causing a problem today, but abandoned plugins eventually become security ones. There is a maintained alternative and swapping it is about an hour. No rush — worth doing before the end of the year.
- Traffic to your Catering page is up noticeably on last month. I do not know why, and I would rather say that than invent a reason. Worth knowing if you are deciding where to put effort.
Time used
38 minutes of your 1 hour on the Care plan. The rest does not roll over on Care, so if something needs doing, April is a good month to ask.
Nothing here needs a decision from you. The Instagram plugin is the only thing on my list to raise again, and I will bring it up in a few months if nothing changes.
Anything you want changed, just reply.
